Visit from Jr.

Bruce Jr. was in Florida today!!. He drove from the Atlantic and we drove from the Gulf side and met in Lake Placid. Bet you thought that was in New York- didn't you!!. Thanks Jr.!! It meant a lot to us to get a real hug!
Lake Placid is known as the City of Murals. These are some of the murals we saw while visiting.

More reasons to come to Florida

Some pictures we took on Saturday:
This is a Limpkin - the dark bird. You can tell what the other picture is. When I type then I upload a picture, the writing goes below even if I write it first?? The turtles swim in swamps and bayous. The white bird is an egret. Our message: Come and see!

This is a sight we see every time we drive to Lakeland. We always wonder if they use these trailers for the TV add of phone bars.

SURPRISE!!!

Yesterday morning we left to go to Ft Myers to see a rental that Elder De Hoyos wanted to move the missionaries into. We went with our AP's Elder De Hoyos and Elder Johnson, then after the 3 hour drive we met with Elder and Sister Mott who drove down separately We ate at Bahio Grill- we haven't eaten there since Utah. It was good food and lots of fun to visit. Then, after lunch, Elder De Hoyos got on the phone to arrange for us to see the place. After having the realtor tell him that she couldn't meet us until 5 pm, Elder Mott talked with her and found out... it was not a rental, it's only For Sale. So, below you see Elder De Hoyos talking with the woman, and Elder Mott's face of..."Are you kidding me? We drove 3 hours for nothing?"

Oops!
Next we made a "surprise" visit to Elder Andreason's apartment. Can you imagine his fear when we knocked on the door and there stands APs, President and Sister Summerhays and Elder and Sister Mott. He turned so red and about died. His apartment was totally unacceptable. It was so dirty! The pictures don't even begin to show it. Below is Elder Johnson our AP and President.
This picture below is made up of three different apartments. None of them were very clean. It was a rather disheartening day. Elder Mott is starting to wonder if anyone is listening. It doesn't appear that way. He is in charge of apartments.
Needless to say, when Elder Mott is not happy with the condition of apartments he really takes it out on the Elders!

We inspected 3 apartments and the Motts went on to inspect 7. These are their pictures. We are losing one of the Office Elders and an AP. Elder DeHoyos is going to train and thenew AP has a brother that plays basketball for BYU so Elder Mott is very excited about that. Sister Summerhays is worried. The AP is Elder Zylstra. Now both of our AP's are very Tall. Elder Zylstra hopes to play football for the Y.

These are Elder Shannon's teeth for the different neighborhoods he tracts in. He wants to be able to fit in (as if the white shirt, tie, short hair and nametag aren't dead giveaways) so he said he wears the bottom teeth when he's in an area where there's lots of drugs- these are his "meth" teeth. The middle ones have a gold tooth in the front and the top teeth are for everyday tracting. I guess they were a Christmas present from his brother. And this is former AP!

Hope everyone has a wonderful new year! Where did 2010 go?
