Missionaries getting ready to share the joy of this baptism.
Brother Mathews was challenged over a year ago to set a date for someone his family could bring for the missionaries to teach. They kept trying and forgetting and praying about it but nothing came to them. Then as it was becoming D-day and they were worried about not succeeding, Joy had heard about the church at school and came to them and asked about the church. President always says there are people everywhere looking and if we are doing our part, we will find them or they will find us.
Elder Craner and Elder Shannon were the first to teach her. Elder Shannon had been our Assistant but when the Ft. Myers ward was created, he asked President if he could serve there. He welcomed Elder Craner and trained him there. Elder Shannon has been home for about a year now but came back for the baptism.

After the baptism. Elders Jensen, Joy, Brother Mathews and Elder Smith. That wave right behind them got them good!
Elder Jensen is one of our "first-born in our wilderness" This is his last transfer. You can see the light in him and our Savior's image in his countenance. This has been one hard working, committed, valiant, obedient, diligent missionary. This makes us weepy to see the beautiful change that comes to a missionary who has served with all of his heart for all of the right reasons. We will miss him but we are so grateful that he had this beautiful experience in the 'fourth watch' of his mission.
